Kim Dustin is the Director of Member Relations for the Employee Benefit Research Institute, a nonprofit, member-based organization committed to independent, objective, and nonpartisan research and education on retirement, health, and other employee benefit plans, programs, and policies. Kim is responsible for maintaining strong, effective relationships with current and prospective EBRI member organizations, government and private sector officials, policymakers, experts, and thought leaders. She represents EBRI on key employee benefit projects, task forces, conferences, seminars, meetings, and other activities. She also contributes to EBRI research and analyses with writing, editing, website, social media, and other content and communication expertise.

Prior to joining EBRI in 2017, Kim was a Principal and senior member of Mercer's Washington Resource Group (2000-2016) where she was responsible for marketing, selling, member education, and customer service for a web- and membership-based information service focused on news and indepth research and analyses on key policy, legal, and related issues affecting retirement, health, and other employee benefits. At Mercer, Kim had a diverse set of other responsibilities-analysis of legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments affecting employee benefit plans; marketplace and policy research; and assisting employers manage compliance obligations and administration of tax-qualified retirement plans.

Before Mercer, Kim worked as an associate attorney at a Washington, DC-based law firm where she supported the compliance and operations responsibilities of multiemployer retirement plans. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from James Madison University and a Juris Doctor from William & Mary Law School.
