
Dr. Marc Watkins is the Chief Medical Officer of Kroger Health, overseeing the clinical strategy for over 2,200+ pharmacies and 220+ Little Clinic locations across 37 states. He leads a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and the development of associate benefit programs.
Dr. Watkins joined Kroger in 2015 as Vice President and Medical Director of The Little Clinic, becoming CMO in 2018. Prior to Kroger, he held leadership roles at Concentra Health Services, focusing on strategic and clinical programs for major employers. He is currently on the board of directors at Concentra.
A fellow of the American College of Occupational & Environmental Medicine and the American College of Healthcare Executives, Dr. Watkins also served five years as Senior Medical Officer in the U.S. Navy, earning two Navy Commendation Medals.
He holds a BA in Philosophy from Holy Cross College, an M.D., and a Master of Science in Public Health from Meharry Medical College. He also adjunct faculty at Belmont School of Medicine and University of Cincinnati School of Pharmacy.
Dr. Watkins resides between Nashville and Cincinnati with his wife and several rescued cats. He enjoys golf and traveling in his free time.
