Samita Thephasit

Research Associate

Samita Thephasit is a Research Associate at the Employee Benefit Research Institute. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in finance at Florida International University and is pursuing a Master of Business Analytics at William & Mary.

Before joining EBRI, Samita was a financial advisor at a small advisory firm where she played multiple roles including trader, assisting portfolio managers, and financial planner. Samita started her finance career as an enrollment advisor at VALIC, where she assisted teachers in Broward County Public Schools in selecting their supplemental retirement plans. During this time, Samita conducted numerous presentations on the Florida Retirement System (FRS), providing insights into how defined contribution and defined benefit plans can differently affect teachers and other faculty members in their retirement plans.
