Robert Powell, CFP®, is an award-winning financial journalist whose work appears regularly in MarketWatch.com, USA Today, TheStreet.com, The Wall Street Journal, and AARP. He is the editor and publisher of Retirement Daily on TheStreet.

Powell also serves as the editor-in-chief of the Investments and Wealth Institute’s (IWI) Retirement Management Journal, the first-ever peer-reviewed journal focused solely on retirement-income; the host of IWI’s Exceptional Advisor podcast; the co-founder of finStream.tv; an instructor in Salem State University's Online Elder Planning Specialist program; Director of Retirement Education at Sensible Money, and the founder of Parting Glass Productions, which is co-producing a film in Ireland based on Fiche Blian ag Fás by Muiris Ó Súileabháin.

Previously, Powell served as the editor of Retirement Weekly, a MarketWatch-Dow Jones subscription publication that was launched in October of 2003 and the curriculum director of Salem State University's Online Retirement Management Analyst program.

Powell has also served as a lecturer at the Boston University-Financial Planning Association Lifecycle Investing for Financial Planners program. He served as a content strategist to the Financial Planning Association from 2003 to 2011 and played a key role in the development and launch of the FPA’s Virtual Learning Center, Research Center and its public-facing website.

Powell has also served as executive producer of "More Than Money," a personal finance television series produced in conjunction with Connecticut Public Television & Radio

He was the co-author of “Decoding Wall Street,” an investment primer published by McGraw-Hill, and author "20 Tips for Retirement Investors,” published byMarketWatch.com.

Powell formerly served as Managing Director at Acadient, where he was responsible in large part for the creation and launch of the Boston University Online Program for Financial Planners, a CFP® registered program, the Center for Fiduciary Studies' Accredited Investment Fiduciary™ Web-based Program, and the Lightbulb Press' 401(k) Basics Program. Previously, Powell served as director of marketing, training and education for FundQuest, an investment management firm, and founder of MoneCast.com, an online financial education company.

From 1993 to 2000, Powell served as Managing Director and editor-in-chief of Boston-based DALBAR, Inc. where he was responsible for all aspects of the firm's multi-million-dollar publishing company: Mutual Fund Market News, Variable Annuity Market News, The Journal of Mutual Fund Services, Registered Investment Advisor, Visionaries, and “Advice, Trust & Money.”
